Description

Contains color photo of Rivera Coat of Arms. A product of years of intensive research working with sacramental records in Mexico and in the U.S. The author’s roots for this family come from Joseph Miguel Rivera and Eusebia Maldonado Solis, married on November 11, 1765 in San Gregorio de Cerralvo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. Nearby were the mines of San Gregorio discovered in 1577 by Luis de Carvajal y de la Cueva. Records are missing from 1577 to 1761. The family migrated to Cuidad Mier and Camargo, Tamaulipas and from there to the Texas counties of Starr, Nueces, Duval and Hidalgo.
