Jose Mora y del Rio served as Archbishop of Mexico from 1908-1928 during both the Mexican Revolution and the Cristero Rebellion. He died in exile in San Antonio, Texas, on April 22, 1928. Due to the crisis in Mexico City he was buried at San Fernando Cemetery No. 2 in San Antonio until November 19, 1947 when he was disinterred. After a Solemn High Mass his body was boarded on a train to Mexico City where an escort was waiting 20 miles from the city for a final resting place in the Cathedral. Has two appendices.
