LIBRO DE ENTIERROS DE SAN AGUSTIN DE LAREDO, VOLUME II, 1-9-1822 – 12-11-1835

Description

This is the second in a series of transcriptions of death and burial records of San Agustin Parish of Laredo. These transcription of Spanish Colonial archival records are taken from copies obtained by the late Gloria Villa Cadena, an expert researcher in Hispanic genealogy. We, in turn, obtained copies from the San Antonio Public Library, repository for Mrs. Cadena’s extensive genealogical collection. We were fortunate to obtain the services of Lee James Nichols who can read these difficult documents written in Spanish paleography. His other publications are available  on our website for sale. Unfortunately, the next series from 1836-1863 which would be Volume III are missing. We will next be transcribing and publishing  Volume IV in the near future, the period from 1864 to 1876. We have requested the missing records and the early death records of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Laredo for 1898 to 192o form the Diocese of Laredo but they are not cooperative and refuse to provide us these records.
