Moses Ben Maimon, known as Miamonides (1138-1204) was a Sephardic Jewish scholar of the Torah, an expert in Jewish law and ethics. He was a polymath, being also an astronomer, a physician, and one of the most prominent philosophers in medieval Jewish history. Includes an introduction on his life and works and 450 entries on subjects such as diseases, hygiene, and medical ethics. This is an excellent work for physicians to study the evolution of medical treatment and practices. On his tombstone is inscribed, ” From Moses to Moses there was none like Moses.”
