Description
In the midst of the Great Depression a program was born that would employ artists but also to lift up the spirits of the people. This New Deal program was to celebrate the life, history, hopes, and dreams of ordinary Americans. The art work created accomplished its purpose and created an appreciation for these vivid murals in post offices and federal building around the country. Artist in Texas included Tom Lea, Jerry Bywaters, Peter Hurd, Otis Dozier, Alexander Hogue, and Xavier Gonzalez. The images consist of 104 in color out of 127 art works. 9 x!/2 x 9&1/12 size.
