About 9,500 Hispanic men fought in the Civil War of the United States. The first edition of this book was published in 1976 in hardback that quickly sold out. This is an expanded edition of the history of those vaqueros and contains a comprehensive list of almost 4,000 names of both the Confederate and Union Hispanics from Texas who served in the war. The book has a narrative about these people, their land, and their epic role in Texas History. Appendix A lists the Federals and Appendix B the Confederates in alphabetical order. Contains illustrations and an index of the narrative.
